DCI Edge Chair Repair and Service
DCI Edge Chair Repair and Service
Cup filler valves, water relays, foot controls and delivery units on DCI Edge Series 4 and Series 5 equipment. Factory-trained, independent, and we check your warranty before we charge you for a part.
Symptoms we see most on DCI Edge
If any of these sound like your operatory, we have almost certainly fixed it before.
Cup filler drips constantly
A drip for a few seconds after filling is residual water in the spout and is normal. A steady weep into the bowl means the water relay under the cuspidor is not seating, usually from debris or worn O-rings. Sometimes it is the touchpad button sticking and holding the air signal open.
Foot control stuck on
The pedal behaves as though it is pressed all the time, and the chair or handpiece will not release until it is disconnected. On disc-type pneumatic controls it is the spool and O-rings sticking. On electric chair foot switches it is the switch itself.
Bowl rinse will not shut off
Usually a timing valve or the same relay assembly that feeds the cup filler. Worth checking both at once since they share plumbing under the cuspidor.
Chair drifts or will not lift
Hydraulic drift, slow lift or a chair that stops partway. Often a valve or seal issue rather than the pump, which is a far cheaper repair than practices expect.
Syringe leaking air or water
Usually O-rings or the syringe valve cartridge. Quick to fix, and worth doing across all operatories at once while the tech is on site.
Weak handpiece drive air
Cracked tubing, a failing coupler, or a pressure problem originating in the mechanical room rather than the operatory. We check both ends before replacing parts.
Check the warranty before you pay for parts
DCI Edge coverage is better than most practices realize, and the terms changed recently. Equipment purchased on or after 20 February 2025 carries a ten-year warranty. Equipment bought before that falls under the earlier terms, which commonly ran five years on chairs and related components. Either way, warranty covers the part and excludes labor.
Real example. A Westchester practice called about a leaking cup filler and a stuck foot control on a chair manufactured in early 2022. They assumed a four-year-old chair was long out of warranty, and were ready to pay for parts.
It was still covered. Both parts came from the manufacturer at no charge. The practice paid for labor only, which is all any warranty would have excluded anyway.
The only reason we could tell was the serial number on the label under the cuspidor arm. That is why we log model and serial on every unit we touch.
Before you call, find the serial
Two minutes of looking saves a return trip and tells us immediately whether the part is on the manufacturer or on you.
Find the label
On DCI Edge chairs the label is usually on the chair base or under the cuspidor arm. It lists a part number, a serial number and a manufacture date.
Photograph it
Take a clear photo of the whole label rather than typing it out. Text it to us with a short description of what the equipment is doing.
We check coverage
We verify warranty status with the manufacturer, confirm the right part number, and tell you what the visit will cost before we drive out.
What DCI Edge service costs

DCI Edge questions
Is my DCI Edge chair still under warranty?
Equipment purchased on or after 20 February 2025 carries a ten-year warranty. Earlier equipment falls under previous terms, commonly five years on chairs and related components. Send us a photo of the serial label and we will check with the manufacturer before charging you for any part.
Why does my cup filler keep dripping?
A short drip after filling is residual water in the spout and is normal. A constant weep usually means the water relay valve under the cuspidor is not seating, from debris or worn O-rings, or that the touchpad button is sticking and holding the valve open.
My foot control is stuck on. Can I use the chair?
Disconnecting the foot control will usually let the chair operate, which is a safe short-term workaround. On disc-type pneumatic controls the cause is typically sticking spools and O-rings, repairable with a rebuild kit rather than a whole new pedal.
Do you carry DCI parts on the truck?
Common valves, O-rings and rebuild kits, yes. Anything else is ordered the same day, and the return visit to install it is labor only with the trip charge waived.
Do you service brands other than DCI Edge?
Yes. A-dec, Midmark, Planmeca, Air Techniques, Dexis and Vatech, plus compressors, vacuum systems and sterilizers. See all equipment services.
