A Westchester dental practice refreshed in two phases: the front desk and feature wall first, then the operatories and consult room. $40,000 total — $15,000 and $25,000.
- Location
- Scarsdale, NY (Westchester)
- Phase 1
- Reception — $15,000
- Phase 2
- Operatories & consult room — $25,000
- Total
- $40,000

Phase 1 — reception and front-of-house ($15,000)
The first phase was everything a patient sees when they walk in: a new front desk, arched wall panels and trim on the feature wall, and painting throughout the reception area including the navy accent wall. This is the part of a practice that sets the tone for the visit, and it was done as its own phase so the clinical rooms could be scheduled separately.
Phase 2 — operatories and consult room ($25,000)
The second phase moved into the clinical rooms: painting throughout, new countertops in the operatories and the consult room, and a final clean. Operatory work has to be planned around the chairs, the utilities and the practice schedule, which is where a contractor with dental equipment experience earns the job.
Why a dental office refresh is different from an office repaint
Operatories are full of equipment that cannot simply be moved aside — chairs, delivery units, water and air lines, suction, X-ray. Our background servicing A-dec, Midmark, DCI and Air Techniques equipment means the work is sequenced around the equipment rather than fought against it, and nothing is disconnected that doesn’t need to be. That is the difference between a refresh that takes a weekend and one that takes a week of lost production.
What it cost
$40,000 in total: $15,000 for the reception phase and $25,000 for the operatories and consult room. Each phase was quoted as a fixed price for the scope above. A refresh like this is a fraction of the cost of a buildout, and for a practice that is staying put it is often the better investment.

Questions people ask about this job
Can a dental office renovation be done in phases?
Yes. This job was done in two: front-of-house first, then the operatories and consult room, each quoted and scheduled on its own.
What does a dental office refresh cost?
This Scarsdale practice was $40,000 across reception, operatories and consult room. A single-area refresh costs less; a full buildout costs more. We quote a fixed price after a site walk.
Do you handle the equipment, or do I need my dealer?
We are factory-trained on the major equipment lines and handle disconnects, reconnects and installs ourselves when a job needs them.
Where do you work?
NYC, Westchester, Long Island and northern New Jersey.
