Renovation & IT Upgrade FAQs

Common questions from practices planning upgrades

Yes—this is our specialty. We phase work room-by-room and schedule demolition, plumbing, and noisy trades for nights and weekends. Most practices stay fully operational throughout the renovation with zero lost chair days.
Most practices upgrading from older systems need Cat6a data drops to every operatory, a proper network rack with patch panel and UPS, dedicated circuits for CBCT and pan units, wall-mounted monitor arms with concealed cabling, and Wi-Fi access points for full-office coverage. We also set up secure IT closets with ventilation and HIPAA-aware device placement.
We handle all construction and infrastructure: rough-ins, power, data, plumbing, and mounting. For the actual dental equipment (chairs, units, imaging), we coordinate directly with your supplier—Benco, Patterson, Henry Schein, or direct from manufacturer—to ensure our rough-ins match their exact specs.
Single operatory refresh: 1-2 weeks. Reception/waiting area renovation: 2-3 weeks. Full-office modernization: 6-12 weeks depending on scope. IT-only upgrades (cabling, network, mounts): 3-5 days. All timelines assume phased, after-hours work.
A build-out starts from an empty shell—new walls, plumbing, electrical, everything. A renovation works within your existing space: updating finishes, reconfiguring layout, upgrading infrastructure, and modernizing systems while preserving what still works. Renovations are often faster and more cost-effective.
Absolutely. We add dedicated 20A or 30A circuits, proper grounding, lead-lined walls where required, data connections, and equipment mounting—all spec’d to your specific unit (Planmeca, Vatech, Dexis, Carestream, etc.). We coordinate with the manufacturer rep to ensure everything passes their installation checklist.
