Dental Operatory Expansion: Middletown, NY

Hudson Valley Location

The Challenge

Our client in Middletown, NY needed to reconfigure their existing dental operatory to create more functional space for the doctor and clinical equipment. The existing layout was limiting workflow efficiency, and they needed a contractor who could handle the complexity of relocating sensitive dental equipment while performing the necessary construction work.

The practice couldn’t afford extended downtime, and they needed someone who understood both the construction requirements and the specialized equipment involved — not two separate companies trying to coordinate schedules.

Before & After

Scope of Work

This project required coordination of multiple trades and careful handling of specialized dental equipment. Here’s what we delivered:

Dental Chair Relocation Proper disconnect, repositioning, and reconnection
X-Ray Relocation Wall-mounted unit with calibration coordination
Sink Relocation New position with complete plumbing work
Ceiling Light Relocation Operatory light repositioned for optimal access
Complete Plumbing Water supply and drain lines for new layout
Full Electrical Work Equipment power and lighting circuits

Our Approach

As a contractor with specialized training from A-dec, Midmark, and Planmeca, we understand that dental construction isn’t just about building walls — it’s about creating spaces that integrate seamlessly with complex clinical equipment.

Day 1-2: Assessment & Disconnect

We documented all equipment connections, photographed configurations, and safely disconnected the dental chair, X-ray unit, and sink. Each connection was labeled for precise reinstallation.

Day 3-6: Construction

With equipment safely protected, we performed the plumbing rough-in for the new sink location, ran electrical for the repositioned equipment, and prepared ceiling mounts for the relocated operatory light.

Day 7-9: Reinstallation

Equipment was carefully reinstalled in the new configuration. All plumbing and electrical connections were made to manufacturer specifications. The dental chair hydraulics, water lines, vacuum, and air were all reconnected and tested.

Day 10: Final Testing & Handoff

Complete system testing, cleanup, and handoff to the practice. The doctor had a fully functional, reconfigured operatory with improved workflow and more space.

Why This Matters

Most general contractors won’t touch dental equipment — and for good reason. Improper handling can damage hydraulics, void warranties, and create liability issues. Our equipment training means one contractor handles everything, eliminating coordination headaches and finger-pointing between trades.

The Results

The completed operatory now provides the doctor with improved access, better equipment positioning, and a more efficient workflow. The soft sage green accent walls create a calming environment for patients, while the durable luxury vinyl flooring handles the demands of a busy practice.

Most importantly, the project was completed in just 10 business days — minimizing downtime and getting the practice back to full operation quickly.
